Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin trilogy targeted for May 4
In what should come as no surprise to anyone, it appears Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin part three is headed our way!
3kingsboxing.comhas learned that Oscar De La Hoya has directed Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez to start negotiations for a trilogy fight between Alvarez and Golovkin. The match would take place on May 4, in Las Vegas.
Golovkin still remains a free agent and a priority target for PBC, Top Rank and DAZN. Also, reports are circulating that PBC has made a significant offer.
As of now, Golovkin has yet to decide his next move, however, rumor has it that he and wife have already decided to leave Tom Loeffler and K2. Loeffler of course has denied such claims. It is widely expected that a trilogy would almost certainly be broadcasted on DAZN.
After two hotly contested, controversial fights and successful pay per view numbers, this is a logical move for both men. Other names, like Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, Billy Joe Saunders and David Lemieux, have come up at one point or another.
However, it looks as if those guys will have to wait in line for their shot at Alvarez.
3kingsboxing.comwill continue to monitor this story and provide any updates as they become available.
