Julio Cesar Chavez Predicts Outcome of Gervonta Davis v Ryan Garcia
Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25KOs) versus Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19KOs) has garnered a lot of attention for a fight that’s far from being finalized. As you know, these two men have been going back and forth for the last couple of years, with Garcia doing everything in his power to secure a fight with Davis. However, up until now, he hasn’t been successful in doing so.
With his latest knockout victim, former champion Javier Fortuna, now in his rear view mirror, “King Ry” is back with an all-out verbal assault on Davis. This has become such a hot button topic that everyone is talking about it. From current fighters to promoters, and even legendary figures in the sport.
Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is the most recent person to speak out on this topic. He’s arguably Mexico’s greatest fighter ever. In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, he was asked about Garcia’s last fight.
“No, I don’t watch bullshit [Garcia v Fortuna].”
“I have a good esteem of him [Ryan Garcia]. He’s a good friend; he’s a good peoples. He called me on the phone the day of his fight. But I didn’t see his fight, truthfully.”
The living legend was also asked about how Garcia stacks up against Davis.
“It’s going to go very bad for him. I’ve seen Gervonta fight, but I haven’t really analyzed him, but he’s a hell of a fighter, with all respect. I think he’s going to knockout Ryan Garcia.”
With Chavez Sr. weighing in with such an honest take, it’ll be interesting to see what Garcia has to say about the legendary fighter in response to his prediction that Davis will knock him out in a fight.
