Dillian Whyte showcases power in win over Alexander Povetkin!

After being brutally knocked out in four rounds back in August of 2020 by former WBA regular heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (36-3-1, 25KOs), Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (28-2, 18KOs) extracted revenge. He would ironically also stop Povetkin in four rounds. Afterwards, he would send a message out to his fellow heavyweight fighters, while offering Povetkin an opportunity to run it back for a third time.

“I’m ready to run it back again if he wants the rematch because I should have never lost it the first time. No one can take these punches from me and stand up!”

Whyte, a top contender, is right back in the mix for a title opportunity at some point, likely in 2022. In his post-fight interview, he did not mention anybody by name. However, a fight that makes perfect sense is a long-overdue showdown with former WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (42-1, 41KOs). Whyte was the mandatory for Wilder when he held the green belt but never got the opportunity.

The two have traded words in the past. Now with neither having a big fight on the horizon, now makes perfect sense for these two hard-hitting heavyweights to get in the ring and settle their differences. Whyte would then get to show the world and Wilder that he can’t stand up to his power.
