Eduardo Hernandez Defeats Rene Giron With Ease
In a junior lightweight battle, one-time title challenger Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez (37-2, 32KO) cruises to a unanimous decision over Rene Giron (20-4, 13KO).
Rocky fought at a fast pace from the start of the first round. He used the jab to perfection and attacked with relentless aggression.
His hand speed gave Giron problems as Hernandez landed three to four punch combinations repeatedly.
Even when Giron landed good hard shots, Hernandez regained the momentum with hard body shots. Hernandez was sharp throughout the whole fight, landing punishing counter shots.
Giron landed some hard uppercuts but was rocked by hard right hands in the middle rounds. However, his face was busted open from taking too many right hands due to a lack of head movement.
In the closing rounds, Hernandez got buzzed a few times from hard shots but ended the fight strong by landing the more eye-catching punches. When the final bell sounded, one judge scored it 119-109, and two judges saw it 120-108 in favor of Hernandez.
Hernandez is gunning to avenge defeat against WBC champion O’Shaquie Foster in a potential rematch.
