Jaron Ennis Should Check Conor Benn and Teofimo Lopez
Unified IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis is the center of attention as Conor “The Destroyer” Benn and two-division champion “The Takeover” Teofimo Lopez are open fighting him.
Boots is coming off a dominating stoppage performance against one-time champion Eimantas Stanionis. Although he didn’t say what the next move will be, he should look to see if The Destroyer or The Takeover are serious or just running their mouths.
Lopez is on record calling out the Philadelphian after beating Arnold Barboza with ease on May 2. The confident New Yorker has been on a six-fight win streak since losing to one-time unified champion George Kambosos in 2021.
Benn is somewhat of a question mark, considering his focus is on getting the rematch with arch-rival Chris Eubank Jr. Moreover, his promoter, Eddie Hearn, would look to make a title fight with WBC champion Mario Barrios first. Thus making an Ennis vs Benn unification more profitable.
Team Ennis needs to capitalize on this moment and start making calls for these fights to happen. In this author’s opinion, he beats both of them, maybe even by stoppage.
