Kid Galahad fighting on the Brook – Zerafa Undercard
We last saw Featherweight contender “Kid” Galahad in the ring victorious over Toka Kahn Clary. The unanimous decision win occurred on October 20th at the TD Garden in Boston. The win named him the IBF’s mandatory Featherweight contender.
Instead of resting on his laurels Galahad (25-0, 15 KO’s) is choosing to stay busy until he gets a title shot next year. While Warrington will square off against Carl Frampton on December 22 in Manchester, England, Galahad is returning to the ring on December 8 to face Brayan Mairena in Sheffield, England on the Kell Brook – Michael Zefara undercard.
From Nicaragua, Mairena has an unimpressive 10-4-1 (4 KOs) and lost his last four fights. Given that less than sterling resume, what does that tell you? The upcoming bout against Mairena (scheduled for either six or eight rounds) is only a tune-up fight just to keep Galahad busy and sharp before he faces the winner of Warrington and Frampton for his long-awaited title opportunity.
