DAVIS BAITED GARCIA INTO BETTING THE WHOLE PURSE
Tank appeared on Instagram Live with known Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, when KingRy made an appearance, and things kicked off instantly. The Baltimore power puncher challenged Garcia to a bet in a winner take all scenario.
“You wanna bet? The whole thing, the whole purse?”
Gervonta Davis
“Yeah, let’s do it. I’m down. Let’s do it, the whole purse. Yes, let’s bet! You hear me on the live. Let’s bet for sure. Let’s make a contract, let’s sign it both of us. Do it if you really want it.”
Ryan Garcia
Without hesitation, Davis contacted a close representative to Al Haymon and requested to have contracts drawn up.

“Have Al write up a contract that whoever wins gets each other’s purse. I’m dead serious, I’m dead ass serious. We got Ryan on live right now. . . the whole purse, not half the whole purse.”
Gervonta Davis
Former WBC middleweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez did the same thing in 2017. Garcia is no stranger to making bets as he once wagered $20,000 with unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr that former Tank knockout victim, Rolando Romero would win that fight.
Of course, fans are going to be a little skeptical about the seriousness of both fighters signing a contract and giving up their entire purse. However, this has added extra intrigue to the boxing world wanting to see them get it on.
