Contract on the way
Eddie Hearn has stated that Deontay Wilder and his team should receive the contract by tomorrow. The most anticipated heavyweight matchup in sometime may become a reality. Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua could be a step closer to meeting in the ring.
Hearn said he hopes the bout takes place in either October or November in Cardiff. The bout will more than likely been shown on DAZN in America and obviously Pay Per View in the United Kingdom. It’s a bout that the fans want to see and will determine an undisputed heavyweight champion.
Hearn did however have a stern warning for Wilder’s team, if they mess around with signing the contract than Joshua will be facing Alexander Povetkin in September. Povetkin is the mandatory for Joshua’s WBA and both sides have been negotiating in case a deal with Wilder fell apart.
Hopefully the terms that were agreed to is exactly what’s in the contract and it gets sign, there’s no more delays and we get the best matchup in the heavyweight division. If not than we will more than likely get Wilder facing Dominic Breazeale and Joshua obviously facing Povetkin.
If it does get done, then we will have to give both sides kudos. They kept talking even when publicly disagreeing on the terms. They stayed behind closed doors, negotiated in the dark so to speak. They kept the lines of communication open and away from the spotlight. Now, we should be hopeful that contract gets signed, and we can finally have a fight.
