Looking to bounce back from a May loss to one of the top Pound 4 Pound fighters in the world Vasyl Lomachenko, Jorge Linares will return to the ring against Abner Cotto (23-3, 12KO).

Linares (44-4, 27KO) established himself as one of the best fighters at lightweight, even establishing lineal status. He will look to have the same success at super-lightweight (140lbs).

However, he will be facing an experienced veteran in Cotto who has shared the ring with names like Javier Fourtuna, Francisco Vargas and Omar Figueroa.

In addition, Cotto has been campaigning at super-lightweight over his last five fights. Therefore, he claims an advantage in terms weight acclimation.

Regardless, Linares is clearly the more skilled fighter of the two that has accomplished much more in his career.

The fight will be aired live on Facebook as a part of Golden Boy’s deal with the popular Social media platform.
