Sandor Martin Calls for Big Fights with All Top Junior Welterweight Players!

Fighting in front of an adoring home crowd at the Palau Olímpic Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain, junior welterweight contender Sandor “Arrasandor” Martin (40-2, 13 KOs) outpointed Jose Felix (39-6-1, 30 KOs) by unanimous decision. The 28-year-old had his boxing skills on full display, using footwork, ring IQ, and precision punching to dominate from start to finish.

The win kept Martin near the top of the 140 pound world rankings. When asked who he’d want to fight next, during the post-fight interview, “Arrasandor” said he’s ready to fight anyone to prove his superiority.

BRING THEM ON

“So, I want to face the best. I want to face the best in that division, (Jose) Ramirez, (Jose) Zepeda, (Teofimo) Lopez. You know, I’m not here to play games; I’m here to face big fights.”

You can understand why Martin is so self-assured. The victory over Felix follows a career-best win over four-division world champion “Mikey” Garcia in November 2021. His confidence is at an all-time high.

If boxing ability means anything, Martin can fight with anyone at 140. A slickster in the purest form, it would be hard-pressed if any of the men he called out could outwit him in a battle of skills.

DREAMS OF A BIG FIGHT ON HOME SOIL

Ranked fourth by the WBA, fifth by the WBC, and thirteenth by the IBF, he’s on the cusp of a world title shot. With undisputed junior welterweight champ Josh Taylor expected to move up to welterweight, it’s not outside the realm for the Spaniard to fight for a soon-to-be-vacant title either later this year or early in 2023.

If it were up to him, a world title shot would take place in Spain. He laid down the gauntlet to his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to do what he can to make that a reality.

“That would be the dream […] kind of a turning point for Spanish boxing here. So, my challenge to Eddie Hearn is to bring a world title here, and I promise, I won’t fail.”

Yes, Martin feels ready to face anyone and hungry for a world title. He’s willing to go through anyone to achieve his goal. The junior welterweight division has officially been put on notice.
