Mike Tyson says trilogy bout with Evander Holyfield is on!
UPDATE: Representatives for Mike Tyson have told TMZ Sports, that the former undisputed heavyweight champion misspoke when saying the fight with Holyfield was on. It’s claimed that Tyson was not aware of how far apart the two are from a deal being done. His reps also claim that unless something drastic happens, the fight will not happen.
Ever since he returned to the ring on November 28, 2020 against fellow all-time great Roy Jones Jr., Mike Tyson has been a wanted man. That eight round exhibition bout brought in huge PPV numbers, reminding everyone of the star power the former undisputed heavyweight champion still has all these years later.
Naturally, this led to another all-time great and former world champion to get that itch to return. Evander Holyfield, who shared the ring with Tyson twice, winning both bouts, has been calling out his former bitter rival-turned-friend for a third bout. After many thought it was a no brainer, recently Holyfield came out and stated that the fight was not going to happen. However, Tyson says the fight is a done deal!

He told fighthype.com the following:
“I just want everybody to know, you know the fight is on with me and Holyfield, and Holyfield’s a humble man. I know that. He’s a man of God, but I’m God’s man, and I’m going to be successful May 29.”
The buildup should be more friendly this go around. Tyson has shown growth and maturity. Just in case you all forgot, or just did not know, Tyson took a bite out of Holyfield’s ear in their June 28, 1997 rematch.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates once an official announcement is made.
