Luis Ortiz to serve in co-feature of Castano vs Lara March 2
Top heavyweight contender and former world title challenger, Luis Ortiz will return to the ring on March 2. He’ll serve in the co-main event to fellow countrymen Erislandy Lara, who’ll take on Brian Castano.
As of late, he is riding a two fight win streak since suffering his first career defeat against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder back in March.
Recently, he has been one of several names mentioned to be in play for undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk’s heavyweight debut. However, Ortiz’s manager says there’s been no contact with anyone from the champion’s team.
“We would fight Usyk any day of the week. Personally, I think Usyk is really good but I think he could use a couple fights at heavyweight before stepping up.”

He also stated that a lot of fighters have mentioned the southpaw Cuban in fight scenarios without actually making offers.
Although, as of this moment, his opponent is unknown. Ortiz is itching for another title shot regardless of the opponent.
Therefore, hopefully it’s a noteworthy name.
