Team Luis Ortiz drops the ball!
It has been revealed that Luis “King Kong” Ortiz’s management team recently made a tremendous blunder. Last week it became public knowledge that Anthony “AJ” Joshua’s opponent Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller would not be available for their June 1 showdown. Miller was busted with a whooping three separate PED’s in his system.
After this discovery, there was a mad dash to find a replacement foe. At the top of that short list was “King Kong” himself.
Luis has very vocally chased Joshua for a number of years and the fans were gung-ho about the match-up. Team Joshua would make Team Ortiz an offer. However, the latter, Dade Promotions and manager Jay Jimenez, turned the offer down claiming that it was insultingly low. In the end, the accusations of a low-ball offer were debunked.
It has since been reported that Ortiz was offered about $5 million dollars. Yet, thinking more money could be secured, management turned the deal down. Not only was the deal rejected, it was never even presented to Ortiz!
Now Ortiz, his trainer, fans and a large section of the boxing world are fuming mad because Team Joshua opted moved on rather than offer a higher wage. The whole situation was a complete disaster for everyone involved, including the fans. However, this most especially applies to Ortiz, who is approaching the twilight of his career.
It s not currently known who or when Ortiz will fight next. We can only hope that its soon and against a notable opponent.
