Raymond Muratalla Remains Undefeated By Beating Tevin Farmer
In a lightweight showdown, top contender Raymond “Danger” Muratalla (21-0, 16KO) rallied late to remain undefeated against former IBF junior lightweight champion Tevin “2x” Farmer (33-6-1, 8KO).
2X, a former champion, used all the tricks early. He landed shots and then shifted out of position to avoid any return-fire, as the hand speed and quick combinations made the younger fighter hesitate to throw punches.
Danger adjusted by taking some of the steam off the punches and started landing the right hand. In addition, he was the more aggressive fighter by keeping Farmer against the ropes, which can influence the judges.
Despite fighting off the backfoot, Farmer did a good job of boxing. The Philly fighter showed that championship pedigree and was landing sneaky solid shots.
In the second half of the contest, Danger’s offense came alive in the form of power shots. In the eighth round, his comeback got a boost as Farmer got deducted a point for holding.
The Californian controlled the fight with eye-catching right hands that hurt Farmer in the closing rounds. When the scorecards were collected, the judges saw it 97-92, 96-93, and 95-94 in favor of Muratalla, who called out champions Shakur Stevenson and Denys Berinchyk.
