Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell anyone?

A mouth watering match-up could be on tap after the WBC has ordered rising lightweight prospect Ryan “KingRy” Garcia (20-0, 17KOs) and two-time world title challenger Luke Campbell (20-3, 16KOs) for the interim WBC title. This according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

This all comes after Javier Fortuna (35-2-1, 24KOs) who was supposed to face Campbell for the same title in April, agreed to face former champion Jorge Linares (47-5, 29KOs) on August 28.

If a deal is reached this would be by far the best fighter Garcia has fought. Campbell, a 2012 Olympic Gold medalist has shared the ring with the Linares, Vasyl Lomachenko, Yvan Mendy and Argenis Mendez. He is very seasoned and has more than enough to beat the young Golden Boy prospect.

The winner will become the mandatory for Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15KOs). If Garcia is able to get passed Campbell, a showdown with a rival awaits. The two men have gone back and forth in the past in person and over social media.

With this announcement, they’re one step closer to getting their wishes. All Garcia has to do is accept the challenge and defeat Campbell!
