Janibek Alimkhanuly Calls Out All of the Champions in the Middleweight Division!

After his second round destruction of Danny Dignum (14-1-1, 8KOs) to win the WBO 160-pound interim title, Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly (12-0, 8KOs) put the entire division on notice! The 2016 Olympian is as confident as they come. It was originally going to be him challenging Demetrius Andrade for the title, after the WBO ordered the bout. However, that went down the drain after Andrade decided to move up to the super middleweight division. Furthermore, the WBO then ordered #1 ranked contender Jaime Munguia to negotiate with Alimkhanuly, but with that not materializing came Dignum.

With stoppage wins over former middleweight champions Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam and Rob Brant, it’s clear that the fighter from Kazakhstan is more than ready for the best of the best in the middleweight division. So much so that after his impressive KO win, he let the world know who he wanted to face moving forward.

“I’m in the ring right now, and I wanted to tell every champion in this weight class that I’m here waiting for you. I am asking every champion to come and fight me.”

While WBC champion Jermall Charlo and WBO champion Demetrius Andrade were mentioned, it seems that Alimkhanuly wouldn’t have a problem facing fellow countryman and unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. While there’s uncertainty about what’s next for Alimkhanuly, one thing is for certain: he is a guy to watch out for. The combination of skills, power, and ring IQ makes him a tough out for anybody.
