Alimkhanuly Wants Carlos Adames & Erislandy Lara’s Titles
Unified middleweight champion Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly (16-0, 11KO) called out champions WBC Carlos Adames (24-1, 18KO) and WBA Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (31-3-3, 19KO). Qazaq Style is on a mission to collect the other two belts to become the undisputed champion.
The Kazakhstani successfully defended the titles in dominant fashion against Andrei Mikhailovich in Australia. He fought behind an educated jab and repeatedly hurt the challenger with power shots. Fighting with supreme confidence, he ended the fight in the ninth round after landing a left hook that forced the referee to stop the fight.
HE WANTS UNDISPUTED
With this victory in the books, Alimkhanuly had a message for Lara and Adames during the in-ring post-fight interview.
“I have two titles, and the other two titles are missing. Any of them, Adames or Lara, I am ready anytime. Send me the paper I’ll sign it anytime.”
– Translated to English
The unified champion exchanged words with Adames in the past on social media. Alimkhanuly called the Dominican easy work following Adames’ claims that Top Rank CEO Bob Arum won’t make the fight.
His quest for undisputed could be on hold for some time as Lara and Adames will likely unify first. In a perfect world, Alimkhanuly would get a shot at both champions but boxing politics won’t allow that to happen.
It only makes sense for Premier Boxing Champions to do a unification that strengthens their position going into negotiations for undisputed. Boxing fans can only hope to get an undisputed fight in 2025, But, like the rest of us, Alimkhanuly will be playing the waiting game.
