Alimkhanuly Should Target the Lara vs Garcia Winner Next

Unified middleweight champion Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly (15-0, 7KO) needs to reconsider his pursuit of undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Instead, he should redirect his attention toward the winner of the bout between WBA Regular champion Erislandy Lara (29-3-3, 17KO) and Danny Garcia (37-3, 21KO).

Alimkhanuly has taken to social media, creating a significant buzz with fans, calling for a fight with Canelo (60-2-2, 39KO) once again.

This is not the first time the Kazakhstani has challenged the super middleweight kingpin. However, the reality is that a bout with Canelo is currently impractical, given that he has two fights remaining under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.

One alternative for Alimkhanuly is to move up in weight and, per WBO guidelines, become the mandatory challenger to Canelo. The only hurdle on this path is he may have to wait until 2025 before the organization mandates the fight.

PRIORITIZING ANOTHER UNIFICATION SHOULD BE THE FOCUS

Qazaq Style should redirect his focus to the Lara vs Garcia winner. The boxing news cycle suggests these two middleweights will square off on December 9.

This presents a golden opportunity for Alimkhanuly to make it known that the winner should face him next. The boxing community is still abuzz about his dominant performance against Vincenzo Gualtieri on October 14.

Some boxing fans might wonder: why not go after WBC champion Jermall Charlo? The answer is simple: Qazaq Style has attempted to secure a fight with Charlo, but nothing has materialized. Furthermore, Charlo has been absent from the ring for over two years, and despite rumors of a return, he still lacks an opponent.

Alimkhanuly finally finds himself in the spotlight, and should seize this moment. With his name generating so much buzz, the time is ripe to capitalize on the opportunity.
