Mike Alvarado destroys Robbie Cannon in two rounds!
The former WBO junior lightweight champion completely destroyed his opponent in Omaha. In round one, he came out patiently pressing forward behind his jab and closing the distance. Cannon was confused from the start, looking for any openings just to mount some type of attack.
In round two, he landed a hard right hand that sent Cannon down on his back. Moments later, Cannon went down again for good.
At 34 years of age, Alvarado seems to have given his career an extension. It’ll be interesting moving forward to see what Top Rank’s plans are for the veteran. He improves his record to 35-4 with 28 knockouts.
