Ancajas vs Barrios Possible For September 14

Jerwin Ancajas and Alejandro Barrios

Ancajas is narrowing down an opponent for his September 14 return.

IBF super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas has caught the attention of fans since defeating an undefeated McJoe Arroyo in 2016.

Many fans are interested in the next time they get to see the champion in action. 3kingsboxing.com has learned that he will be returning September 14 possibly against Alejandro Santiago Barrios.

There are other names that are possible match-ups but Barrios seems to be the leading option.

Barrios (16-2-4, 7KO) is a tough Mexican fighter who is currently unranked by the IBF. He is mostly known for his two wars that both ended in draws against Puerto Rican prospect Jose Martinez.

A title defense against an opponent ranked outside the top fifteen is a bit peculiar.

Many fans are eager to see what he can bring to the table in a jam-packed division. For example, names like Khalid Yafai, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai or Juan Francisco Estrada.

September 14 is the date and the Save Mart Arena is the place. An opponent is the last piece that will complete the picture.

3kingsboxing.com will provide an update when the opponent is named.
