Demetrius Andrade Adamantly Pursuing a Jermall Charlo Fight!
Two-divisional champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (31-0, 19KO) is not trying to look past Demond Nicholson (26-4-1, 22KO) but is eager to fight arch-rival and WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22KO).
This beef has been going on since they both were champions in the junior middleweight division.
Moreover, Andrade has expressed that now is the time to make the fight since both of them fight on the same network.
ANDRADE CONTINUES TO CALL FOR A CHARLO FIGHT
The Rhode Islander is set to face Nicholson at super middleweight to kick things off on January 7, 2023. While speaking with the press, Andrade stood firm on wanting to fight Charlo.
“I don’t ever look past anybody . . . at the end of the day, you know I’m going in there prepared to get hit and to do the hitting, and also be on top. I don’t look past anything . . . I have my confidence at the end of the day.”
“My preferred preference always, I will always keep saying it because there’s no more network shit. Win, lose, or draw, Jermall Charlo, bro. That’s it, that’s what I’m here for. At the end of the day, I got a left hand for him, you know what I’m saying. That’s all that matters right now. I’m doing what I need to do so we can set that up.”
Fighters should never look beyond the challenger that is in front of them. Oftentimes in boxing, this has been the leading cause of a fighter’s downfall. However, given their history, boxing fans can understand Andrade’s eagerness.
