Moloney exercises rematch clause with Franco
The previously unbeaten Andrew Moloney (21-1, 14KOs) has exercised his rematch clause and will face Joshua Franco (17-1-2, 8KOs) in a rematch. He announced the news on Twitter.
Back on June 23, Franco pulled off an upset when he won a razor-close unanimous decision to win the WBA super flyweight title. Franco scored a crucial knockdown on the Australian in the eleventh round, which proved to be key in his upset victory. The scores were 114-113 twice and 115-112.
At the moment, there’s no date set for the sequel. However, given that Moloney suffered injuries to his ears, this fight could take place in the fall.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates once an official date is confirmed.
