Lomachenko/Linares Announcement expected soon
Do you remember me telling you boxing is alive and well. Well somewhere up there the pugilistic gods are smiling down on all of us. We have already seen 2018 start with a bang, and with so many great fights ahead of us we could very well be in for one more.
WBA, WBC Diamond & Ring Magazine Lightweight champion is in talks to fight Vasyl Lomachenko. Bob Arum has said publicly that the contract could be signed as early as next week with May 12that New York’s Madison Square Garden as the mooted venue. The bout is expected to be telecast on the Top Rank on ESPN platform. However as Linares is the champion, this does make a strong case for the bout being on HBO although most would consider Lomachenko the much bigger star.
Rumours still run rife that Manny Pacquaio is being lined up by Arum for a fight against the Ukranian two weight world champion in November. However, as talented as he is. Only a fool looks past their opponent, especially one so talented as Linares.
Should a fight between the two not materialise, the Raymundo Beltran is being considered. Providing that he comes through his fight for the vacant WBO lightweight title against Paulus Moses.
