Biyarslanov Scores Impressive Knockout Over Mimoune
In a battle featuring two friends, junior welterweight Artur “The Wolf” Biyarslanov (18-0, 15KO) stopped Mohamed “The Problem” Mimoune (24-7, 5KO) in two rounds.
The Wolf was on the hunt, attacking the body and landing counter shots from the opening round. He cranked up the offense in the second round, landing a counter hook. The Problem’s glove touched the canvas, which counts as a knockdown.
Biyarslanov landed several hard shots while stalking a hurt Mimoune around the ring. After watching the Frenchman take repeated shots without firing back, the referee stopped the fight. The undefeated Russian became the first fighter to stop the veteran Mimoune.
Biyarslanov needed a performance of magnitude to get some buzz around his name in a such a loaded division. During the in-ring post-fight interview, he mentioned wanting to fight guys like Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.
Biyarslanov isn’t ranked by any of the sanctioning bodies, but after a performance like this he could be placed within the top fifteen soon.
