Arum Wants Tank vs Lomachenko Unification In November
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum dropped a bombshell that WBA lightweight champion Abdul “Tank” Wahid (Gervonta Davis) (29-0, 27KO) vs IBF champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (18-3, 12KO) is in the works.
The boxing community will be in a frenzy after learning that Tank and Hi-Tech could be on the verge of a big fight this year. The WBA champion raised boxing fans’ eyebrows by claiming a fight with Lomachenko would happen after his title defense against Frank Martin.
Some inside the boxing community questioned if Tank could be trusted to keep his word on making the fight. It appears he is in the process of doing that.
A POSSIBLE UNIFICATION NEXT
While speaking with Boxing News, Arum revealed that the two sides have been talking this whole time.
“I think clearly, right now, if Tank is available, Lomachenko having a good victory over [George] Kambosos, that’s the fight everyone wants to see.
The truth is we’ve been talking to the PBC people all along. So, we’ll absolutely resume conversations next week after this fight, assuming Tank is successful on Saturday.”
When asked about a timeframe fans can expect the fight to take place, Arum replied:
“Hopefully, we’ll put it together expeditiously for sometime in November.”

This is huge news as some fans and pundits have criticized Wahid’s resume. Fighting Lomachenko would buy him some good will within the boxing community. Hi-Tech is far from being a done fighter, despite being 36 years old. He still possesses a high ring IQ, can make adjustments instantly, and has good footwork.
Boxing fans, more than ever, have a good reason to tune in to the Martin fight live on Amazon Prime PPV on June 6.
