Ray Beltran returns to face #2 ranked WBO contender Hiroki Okada

Former WBO lightweight champion Ray Beltran is moving up to junior welterweight to face #2 ranked WBO contender Hiroki Okada. The match will be on the undercard of Jose Ramirez vs Jose Zepeda, taking place February 10.

This fight will mark Beltran’s 2019 ring debut and his first fight since losing his title to former WBO champion Jose Pedraza in August.

As for Okada (19-0, 13KOs), he is coming off a split decision victory over Cristian Rafael Coria in September.

The undefeated Japanese fighter undoubtedly will head into this fight as the favorite. Beltran looked like a fighter past his prime against Pedraza.

Even with Beltran appearing to be past his best days, he’s still more than capable of turning the clock back and pulling off the upset.

Closing in on a title opportunity, Okada will look to maintain his standing or leapfrog Jack Catterall who currently sits in the #1 spot.
