David Benavidez Aggressively Calls on his Rivals to Send a Fight Contract
Two-time WBC super middleweight champion David “Red Flag” Benavidez (26-0, 23KOs) is a man on a mission to get one of the top names in the sport around his division in the ring. Following his three-round destruction of former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux, he wasted little time putting WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo, former IBF champion Caleb Plant, and undisputed champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on notice.
It is no secret Red Flag has been tongue lashing these guys for not looking to fight him. Moreover, he has expressed frustration for not being able to get a deserved big fight. Benavidez has been trading words with Charlo and Plant heavily on social media.
Canelo is not absolved from the wrath of the two-time champion. He continues to look for that fight considering he is the number one contender to the Mexican mega-star. Red Flag even made a pitch towards the direction of WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade, who was supposed to make a debut in the division against Zach Parker.
SEND THAT MAN A CONTRACT
Benavidez adopted the nickname the Mexican Monster, given to him by Hall of Fame heavyweight “Iron” Mike Tyson. During the post-fight interview, Benavidez was very candid about who’s next among the names previously mentioned, including WBA Regular champion David Morrell.
“I’m waiting for them to send me the contract. Them bitches know what’s up. I’m right here waiting on them, I’m not scared of nobody. I’m the youngest guy, three-time world champion. 168 division, I’ll put my belts against anybody, and I guarantee you, I’ll knock everybody out.”
Benavidez is only a two-time champion, and it will be interesting to see how the fighters respond to this harsh callout.
