Bivol will defend his title on HBO!
WBA regular light heavyweight champion Dimitry Bivol will attempt his fourth defense against former WBC champion Jean Pascal.
This fight comes on the heels of a deal falling through with Joe Smith Jr who elected to face IBF champion Artur Beterbiev for more money.
Pascal is past his prime but represents the biggest name Bivol will face in his young career. He has been in the ring with Bernard Hopkins, Sergey Kovalev and Eleider Alvarez among others.
After dfeating Ahmed Elbiali in December of 2017, Pascal actually announced his retirement. He cited he had accomplished much in the sport as a fighter and will focus more on being a promoter. Well, he has since picked up an eighth round knockout victory over Steve Bosse in July and now finds himself in one more title fight.
It may not be the most competitive bout that could’ve been made, however, it will be exciting as Pascal comes to fight.
The fight will air live November 24 on HBO!
