Bob Arum Plans To Drop Jarrell Miller From Contract!
It’s gone from bad to worse for disgraced heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1, 20KOs). He again tested positive for performance enhancing drugs earlier in 2020. The New York native had been given a second chance to redeem himself by powerful and legendary promoter Bob Arum.
In 2019, Miller failed multiple drug tests leading up to his June 1 title fight against unified heavyweight Anthony “AJ” Joshua (23-1-1, 21KOs) in his hometown of New York. Nearly two weeks before his scheduled return to ring against Jerry Forest (26-4, 20KOs), the news broke of Miller’s latest transgression.
Arum finally broken his silence on the matter while talking with Talksport.com.
ARUM’S REACTION!
“How stupid can you be? That was my reaction.”
“I look at it this way, if a fighter takes performance enhancing drugs getting ready to participate in a fight, then I look at it as attempted murder. If he somehow evaded the test, he would go in the ring seriously compromising his opponent and I believe that would be attempted murder.”
“If he isn’t banned for life, then I believe it’ll be a multi-year suspension.”
For Miller, he shouldn’t expect another opportunity with Arum and Top Rank, as the promoter made it crystal clear that “Jarrell Miller will never fight on a Top Rank card.”
As the old saying goes “when it rains, it pours”. For Miller, it seems like this is just the beginning of the downpour of punishment headed his way!
