Bob Arum Eager to Realize Shakur Stevenson vs Vasyl Lomachenko

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has been looking forward to making a fight with two-divisional champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson (20-0, 10KO) and three-divisional champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (17-3, 11KO) for a long time.

It is becoming clear that undisputed champion Devin “The Dream” Haney is on the verge of vacating the titles and leaving for the junior welterweight division. This would create a huge opportunity for both multi-divisional champions. With Stevenson and Lomachenko ranked in the top two spots by the WBC and WBO, fans could see them fight for either belt or a unification.

ARUMS SHOWS ENTHUSIASM FOR STEVENSON VS LOMACHENKO

While speaking with the press, Arum revealed that he has been eyeing the fight since signing both fighters.

“From the time we signed Shakur and we signed Lomanchenko, that was the fight in my mind that I wanted to see. It was a little too early for Shakur to fight Loma at that point . . . I would love that fight even if I wasn’t promoting it. I would pay to see it.”

This shouldn’t be a surprise to boxing fans. In 2022, Arum was giddy when explaining that it was a must to have them fight in 2023.

Fearless has been calling for a fight with Hi-Tech going back to 2020. The always-confident Stevenson claimed he would beat the Ukrainian worse than Teofimo Lopez.

After sparring with Fearless, Lomachenko spoke about his fellow stablemate with high praise while showing interest in the potential showdown. The one thing fans know is when Arum puts his stamp of approval on something, it’s almost a guarantee it happens.
