Super Welterweight contender Courtney Pennington signs with Brawlers Sports Management.
Rising super welterweight Courtney Pennington has signed with 3Kings Boxing affiliate Brawlers Sports Management in a move that both parties are very excited about.
Pennington (32), is a New York native who has had some early issues in his career. His recent promotional problems with Star Boxing lead to only fighting once last year.
This is the same promotional company that used to manage the career of WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade along with Banner Promotions.
Brawlers Sports CEO Ric Mohamed was highly impressed with the potential of the Brooklyn boxer in a fight against Steven Martinez. It was in that fight the CEO knew this was a guy he wanted to work with in the future.
Mr. Mohamed was able to provide a few words:
“Brawlers Sports Management is ecstatic to sign super welterweight Courtney ‘The King Penn’ Pennington.
“The boxing skills and talent he posses along with our company will accomplish some big things in the sport.”
He would also add how much respect there is for the trainer.
“Mustafa Marconi is an excellent old school trainer that knows how to connect with his fighters bringing the best out of them.
“The man would always say to me, ‘I can teach a fighter 200 different ways to win a fight.'”
Pennington’s first fight under the new banner took place in Canada resulting in a draw. However, having being out for a year then taking a fight in another country speaks volumes of their confidence in the young man.
Team Pennington is looking to return to the ring sometime in April, with plans on making some serious noise inside an already deep division!
