Adrien Broner Calls Out Nate Diaz For A Boxing Match!

Lately, the sport of boxing has seen other athletes from different sports dipping their toes into the waters. This brings us to four-division champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (34-4-1, 24KO) calling for a fight with well-known MMA fighter Nate Diaz.

THE LINK BETWEEN BOXING AND MMA

For the longest time, boxing and mixed martial arts have been attached to the hip. Hall of Fame fighter Floyd “Money” Mayweather and former UFC champion Conor McGregor’s high-profile fight kicked things off in 2017.

Unified middleweight champion Claressa Shields was emphatic about fighting UFC female champion Amanda Nunes in 2019. Both former legendary UFC champions Anderson Silva and Chris Cyborg have captured victories in the sport of boxing. Hence, why fans were not surprised to hear that after leaving the UFC, Diaz is seeking glory inside the squared circle. Most believe he will probably be looking to fight YouTube personality Jake Paul. Although a fight with Paul has financial influence, a dust-up against Broner would do more in making Diaz’s credibility as a boxer legitimate.

IS BRONER NEXT TO DO EXHIBITION FIGHTS?

Broner has been trying to make a comeback in boxing since his last lackluster performance against Jovanie Santiago in 2021. The flashy and talkative alter-ego known as AB promised to do things differently heading into a new chapter again. Furthermore, he was going to fight former WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa on August 20. One week before the fight, Broner pulled out due to mental illness.

Honestly, this is AB’s only option to regain the attention of the boxing public. Broner does not rank with any of the sanctioning bodies, fans have grown tired of his antics, and the 33-year-old Ohio native has run out of opportunities. Fans should not be surprised if Broner is the next boxer to start doing exhibition fights.
