The moment of truth for a fight Nathan Gorman has been wanting for a long time!
Undefeated rival heavyweight prospects Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman will be putting everything on the line when they face each other July 13th at the London O2 Arena. This fight isn’t just for the British heavyweight title. It’s a bonafide grudge match with massive implementations!
Both men have history that goes back to the amateurs. Gorman has stated many times that he has bested his adversary on numerous occasions and would be able to repeat it as a professional.
Many UK fans have compared this to other domestic level rivalries, such as former world champions James Degale and George Groves or unified champion Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
Gorman has been wanting this fight for quite some time; taking to social media at every chance to call out his nemesis. Dubois hasn’t been shy of responding either, replying “you’re going to sleep”.
Since the announcement, the Nantwich native has taken advice from one of the better boxers in the division, Tyson Fury! The two have similar styles in which both utilize combination punching and movement while being comfortable on the outside.
In addition, both men have good hand speed that many of their opponents have problems with. In essence, if there is anyone Gorman may want to listen to regarding a particular winning game-plan, it would be Fury.
It’s a rare event where two rising top prospects risk their unblemished records so early in their respective careers.
The loser doesn’t just take a hit to their record or lose bragging rights for pride and country. They could literally see themselves moved to the back of the line in the most prestigious division in boxing.
While the winner gets to move on building off the momentum with a push towards the title.
Although an argument can made that Gorman is the better boxer, you can’t deny the power of Dubois as being a major factor. Many pundits and fans already feel this fight won’t go distance, so we are all ready to watch the fireworks!
