Chantelle Cameron Is Tired Of Waiting For The Katie Taylor Fight!
Unbeaten WBC Silver lightweight champion Chantelle “Wham Bam Chan” Cameron (12-0, 7KOs) is ready to lock horns with undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor (16-0, 6KOs).
The unbeaten Cameron who has won two WBC title eliminators in two different weight classes has set her sights on getting her title shot.
Meanwhile, the undisputed champ is coming off of a unanimous decision victory in her rematch with Delfine Persoon on August 22.
Cameron took to social media to call out Taylor.
“Why is this fight not happening? I’m next in line. I’m mandatory. Everyone wants to see it. I want it. Let’s go!”
The two have a bit of history going back to the amateurs. Taylor won all of their meetings with the last being the semi-finals of the 2011 European Championships, of which she became the winner of.
It is safe to say Cameron is anxious for payback!
With Cameron being the mandatory and a fighter under the Matchroom Boxing banner, a clash at some point could happen soon. That is unless Taylor elects to move up in weight, where she holds the WBO junior welterweight title.
It’ll be interesting to see what develops moving forward as the patience for Cameron is wearing. The options for the undisputed champ are endless. Therefore, there is no guarantee the Silver champion is on her radar.
