Jermell Charlo Plans To Breakdown Brian Castaño With Body Punches!
With just a couple of days left until their highly anticipated 154-pound undisputed rematch, the intensity and trash talk has been elevated! After their final press conference which didn’t include a face off, unified champion Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo (34-1-1, 18KOs) made it crystal clear of his game plan for the rematch against WBO champion Brian Castano (17-0-2, 12KOs).
Speaking with reporters, the always animated champion revealed that he plans to break down his counterpart with painful body shots to negate his high guard.
“I think that’s when his moments are going to come to where he gets hit. He gone have his guard up real high and heavy because he realized last time, the power is different. I’m going to substitute some of that with some body shots, add it up, and just break him down.”
Charlo revealing his strategy only a couple of days before the fight is interesting, whether this is shocking or not. Castaño is a very good body puncher himself. However, this could force him to change his approach at least early on in the fight. That is until both men settle the nerves and work their way into a comfort zone.

Regardless of how the outcome of the fight plays out, both guys have talked about hurting one another and scoring a knockout. This really has the potential to be even more brutal and savage than their first encounter. One thing is for sure, both men have the power, will and determination to get the job done and walk out of the ring on May 14 as undisputed junior middleweight champion.
