Collazo Wants Alexander/Berto Winner; Then Spence

Former welterweight champion Collazo eyeing the winner of Alexander-Berto.

Luis Collazo will return to the ring August 4 after over a year long layoff. His last fight was a tremendous showing as he knocked out the once highly touted Sammy Vasquez.

He’ll be taking on Bryant Perella on the undercard of Devon Alexander vs Andre Berto. The fight will air live on PBC on Fox.

Back in 2009, Collazo fought a then-undefeated WBC champion Andre Berto.

The fight turned out to be very controversial when the scorecards were read. Many pundits and fans felt Collazo did enough to win that fight.

While he’s eager to get in the ring with the two main event fighters, the Alexander-Berto winner will likely be looking for a title opportunity. Errol Spence has been the rumored opponent for the winner of this fight later this year.

Collazo has gone on record with his interest in fighting Spence as well.

At 37 years of age, Collazo knows time is ticking and he wants the big fights before he hangs up the gloves for good.
