Conah Walker Took The British Titles Away From Harry Scarff
In a battle for the Commonwealth title and British title, welterweight Conah Walker (15-3-1, 6KO) scored a huge come-from-behind knockout over Harry “Horrible” Scarff (13-4, 3KO).
Horrible was extremely successful fighting in the southpaw stance in the early rounds. His jab and elusive defense gave Walker trouble.
Walker tried to pick up the pace by applying pressure while throwing to the body. But he couldn’t keep up with the movement and use of angles by Scarff.
As the fight continued, Scarff repeatedly pivoted around Walker before landing several punches. However, he seemed to slow down a little, which allowed Walker to land a series of right hands.
Scarff quickly turned things around by going back to using the jab. He even found a home for the uppercut. It looked like he was on pace to win the fight until Walker landed a punishing right hand that put Scarff on the canvas.
The crowd erupted as Scarff got back to his feet, only to have the referee stop the fight after he took a barrage of punches in the eleventh round.
