Conor Benn Blasts Michael McKinson!
Unbeaten welterweight contender Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (21-0, 14KOs) will be watching closely on August 6 when hard-hitting top welterweight contender Vergil Ortiz tussles with his fellow countryman Michael McKinson.
The Destroyer, who’s currently involved in negotiations with middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr for a catch-weight bout, is still very much in tune with his division.
He’s on record stating that he’d love to fight the winner of Ortiz vs McKinson. However, if he’s going to ever step into the ring with the fellow Brit, it’ll only happen if he defeats Ortiz. McKinson isn’t known for his exciting knockouts or bouts for that matter, and that’s due to the fact that he’s only stopped two opponents out of his twenty-one wins.
MCKINSON IS BLASTED BY BENN
With such a reputation built up, Benn let McKinson have it as he blasted him for his lack of entertainment value.
“If McKinson beats Vergil Ortiz that makes that fight with me and him so much more sellable. He’s the most unsellable, unwatchable fighter I’ve ever known.
“So why would I want to take part in that? So, he’s got to have some substance behind him.”
In his American debut, McKinson didn’t necessarily win over fight fans with his lopsided decision win over Alex Martin. Therefore, he’s planning on bringing more entertainment than before against Ortiz. As the hard-hitting Texan brings tons of pressure and power, this may force McKinson to open up at some point and possibly put himself in serious danger!
