Charles Conwell and Bakhodir Jalolov Win their Undercard Bouts


On the undercard of Regis Prograis – Jose Zepeda, Charles Conwell and Bakhodir Jalolov each emerged victorious. Conwell overcame Juan Carlos Abreu in a WBC junior middleweight semi-final eliminator while Jalolov floored Curtis Harper en route to victory.

CHARLES CONWELL WINS MD OVER JUAN CARLOS ABREU

Charles Conwell (18-0, 13 KOs) was forced to adversity to defeat Abreu (25-7-1, KOs) in their high stakes bout. After suffering a cut in the early rounds, Conwell got to work. He used his jab and high work-rate to separate himself. Ranked #5 by the WBC at 154, Conwell moves one step closer to a world title shot in 2023. The scores were 98-92, 96-94, and 95-95.

BAKHODIR JALOLOV STOPS CURTIS HARPER IN FOUR

This was a showcase fight for Jalolov (12-0, 12 KOs), who showed why he’s so highly touted by pundits and fans alike. The 2021 super heavyweight Olympic Gold medalist used his southpaw jab to gain control early, then turned on the power. Harper (14-9, 9 KOs) tried to make things rough but to no avail. He was put down on the seat of his pants at the end of round three and, early in the fourth, Jalolov finished him off. Ranked number one by the IBF, Jabalov is a fighter worth paying attention to in 2023.
