Horn Set To Make First Title Defense
Gary Corcoran, 17-1 7KO, is all set to head down under to face WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn in a little less than two weeks from now on December 13th. The “Hellraiser” is heading into hostile territory but didn’t seem the least bit concerned about the idea when he was on the BoxNation podcast earlier:
“I’m very confident that I’ll do a job on Jeff Horn. He beat Pacquiao when he was at the end of his career. I’m going to beat him! He’s there to be beat… I was looking at him a few weeks ago and he’s very beatable for a World Title. I was happy to get the fight, there are big things ahead.”
“I’m not looking ahead of this, but Horn is! He’s talking about more fights. I’m just looking to beat him up and then see what happens after,” Corcoran added.
It will be Horn’s first defense of the title he won from Manny Pacquiao by a controversial decision in front of his hometown crowd in Brisbane, July 2nd on ESPN. If Horn is able to get by Corcoran he is expected to face the former undisputed junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford in April.
