Terence Crawford has some advice for Gervonta Davis!
WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford is one of those fighters that loves the sport of boxing and tunes in whenever there is a fight happening. Also, he isn’t afraid to speak his mind at all as he tells the cold hard truth regardless if it will ruffle some feathers.
This was the case when Gervonta “Tank” Davis defeated former unified featherweight champion Yuriorkis “ El Ciclon” Gamboa for the vacant WBA “regular” lightweight championship.
It was a fight that many felt should have been a walk in the park for the Baltimore power puncher.
Crawford was among many that felt the 38-year-old Cuban was a shell of himself since handing him his first career loss back in 2014.
In the end, the fact that it took the WBA champion twelve rounds to finally get the technical knock out against an obviously diminished version of Gamboa came under heavy scrutiny.
The WBO champion offered up the same advice that the vast majority of the boxing community wholeheartedly agrees with.
To add even more fuel to the fire, there was an immediate comparison to the other champions in the division. Especially pound for pound unified champion Vasiliy Lomachenko.
The bottom line is if Davis feels in any way slighted by this, there is a simple solution. Fight the top guys at lightweight in 2020!
