Terence Crawford Taunts Manny Pacquiao on Social Media!
In the not too distant past, a match-up between surefire hall of fame inductee Manny Pacquiao and current top pound-for-pound fighter Terence Crawford was one of the most talked about potential match-ups.
While Crawford was dominating the junior welterweight division, many saw him as the potential kryptonite to Pacquiao. This is not dissimilar to the way Pacquiao was viewed to Floyd Mayweather before the two finally collided in May of 2015.
Crawford took to social media to taunt and ask current WBA welterweight champion a question.
“With all do respect do you ever think about getting your title back that you lost to Jeff Horn, being that you felt you won that fight?”
The style of Crawford is all wrong for an advanced Pacquiao. Let alone the future hall of famer’s age along with the wear and tear.
As time passed, however, Pacquiao started to look like the younger version of himself. As of late, he holds two consecutive impressive victories over former champions Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman.
With this success comes the intrigue of a potential fight against the WBO champion. While he would still be a significant underdog, his recent performances warrant some demand for the fight.
Also, him being the WBA champion would make a fight with Crawford a unification bout.
However, we should remember Top Rank chairman Bob Arum had plans of making this fight when the eight division champion was part of his stable. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach quickly showed his reluctance to put the legend in such a tough bout.
Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting to see if Pacquiao or members of his team respond and what that response will be.
