Franchon Crews-Dezurn vs Savannah Marshall Confirmed For June 17

In a fight over ten years in the making, undisputed super middleweight champion “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2KO) gets a shot at revenge against former WBO middleweight champion Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-1, 10KO) on June 17.

3kingsboxing.com reported that the two fighters were rumored to be in talks about making a fight. Well, they have turned the rumors into a reality. They are set to tangle on June 17 at the AO arena in the United Kingdom.

CREWS-DEZURN SENDS A MESSAGE TO MARSHALL

These two women are no strangers to each other. Marshall defeated the undisputed champion in the amateurs. During the press conference, Crews-Dezurn did not hesitate in sending Silent Assassin a message.

“Savannah, she can fight. She’s a big, strong girl. This isn’t our first time. We fought over ten years ago, when I came to London for the test event [part of the 2012 London Olympics]. She got the decision, but I don’t feel it was the right decision. June 17, I have an opportunity to redeem myself for it.”

“She’ll have the opportunity to prove herself – if she can stay at a world-class level. But if she thinks it’s going to be a walk over me to get to Claressa [Shields], or wherever else she thinks that she’s going to go, she’s going to have a very long night.”

The Heavy Hitting Diva is correct in saying Marshall could be in for a long night. It’s no secret the former WBO champion is one of the hardest-punching female fighters, but the undisputed champion is no pushover.

Crews-Dezurn’s only defeat came at the hands of three-division undisputed champion Shields in both of their pro debuts in 2016. Since then, she has been unstoppable. In April 2022, she added to her legacy by becoming the undisputed champion after taking the remaining two belts off Elin Cederroos.
