Artem Dalakian Update
Previously, 3KingsBoxing reported that WBA Flyweight Champion Artem Dalakian had plans to make a voluntary defense before the end of the year. At that time, no opponent or locale had been set in stone.
Well we have now learned of Dalakian’s next opponent, as well as the date and location of his upcoming fight. He will face Gregorio Lebron of the Dominican Republic on December 15 at the Parkovy Convention Centre in Kiev, Russia.
The WBA champion is coming off an eighth TKO win over Sirichai Thaiyen on June 17.
Lebron himself is currently on an eight-fight winning streak; albeit following consecutive controversial Majority Decision losses to Stamp Kaitniwat for the interim WBA Flyweight title in 2015 and 2016. Nevertheless, the WBA has him ranked #3.
This is a good matchup on paper. By looks, it is a competitive battle between a boxer who can move in Dalakian versus an aggressive fighter with power in Lebron.
