Dalton Smith Calls For A Title After Stopping Walid Ouizza
In a fight with a possible title shot next, top junior welterweight contender Dalton “Thunder” Smith (17-0, 13KO) steamrolled Walid Ouizza (19-3, 8KO) in one round.
If you got up to answer the door or went to grab a drink from the concession stand, you are watching a reply of the knockout. Thunder was on a mission from the opening bell, landing hard combination shots that hurt Ouizza early.
Smith put the Frenchman on the canvas with a barrage of punishing shots. He re-engaged with fury, landing another brutal left hook that put Ouizza back on the canvas. The referee waved off the fight after the corner threw in the towel as the Brit celebrated with his team and the crowd.
Smith continues to make noise in a division stacked with good fights. During the post-fight interview, he made it clear a shot at the WBC title is a top priority. No longer stuck on the domestic level, it’s time for Team Smith to fight on the world stage.
The upcoming fight featuring WBC champion Alberto Puello vs Sandor Martin just got even more interesting.
