Daniel Jacobs Set To Return In April

Jacobs back at Barclays April 28th

Former WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs is set to return on April 28th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. His opponent is unknown at this time.

Jacobs recently signed a new deal to be promoted by Matchroom as well as a network deal with HBO. His fight against middleweight contender Luis Arais in November was his first under the new deals.

His manager recently told 3KingsBoxing.com that Saunders is the fight that Danny wants:

“We have April 28 pretty much locked in at the Barclays Center, and we would like Billy Joe Saunders to come over and fight Danny. I think it’s the fight that makes the most sense for Danny, but I don’t know if Saunders will come over. Getting Saunders over on April 28 to Barclays Center, we hope it can be done. I don’t know what their plans are.”

The other top two middleweights, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, are headed towards a rematch against one another after the two fought to a controversial draw back in September.

Jacobs feels Saunders is the best fight available. That said, Jacobs manager does admit that Saunders could potentially try to wait out the winner of the Canelo-Golovkin rematch, which he could then fight next September.
