Danny Garcia eyeing a move to 154.
Garcia has a huge fight on September 8 for the vacant WBC welterweight title.
However, that hasn’t stopped him from thinking ahead.
Garcia says he plans to move up to junior middleweight in pursuit of his fifth world title in three weight classes.
This is what he had to say:
“I am 100% ready to be world champion again. I’ve worked hard, I’m motivated and anything Porter brings will not work. I don’t know if my next fight will be in another weight class, but I definitely have in the plans to go up and win more titles.”
This would be an intriguing and risky move as he would join a division full of men who are twice his size.
Jarrett Hurd, Jermell Charlo and Jaime Munguia all hold titles at 154 and are considerably bigger than Garcia.
3kingsboxing.com will monitor this situation and report any developments as they become available.
