Davies Jr will battle Foot in Newcastle on October 13
Previously reported by 3kingsboxing, Robbie Davies Jr. signed a three fight contract with Matchroom Sports. We have now learned his first fight will be against rugged competitor Glenn Foot (23-3, 7 KOs).
Davies Jr. (16-1, 12 KOs), currently holds the WBA Continental Super Lightweight Title. He won the title by avenging his first career loss to Michal Syrowatka in July 2017.
Coming off that victory, the #11 rated WBA contender has positioned himself to capture both the BBBofC/Commonwealth titles. This could also see him move up in the ranking system with a victory.
Foot (30), currently holds the Commonwealth title. As a former BBBoC champion, he would love nothing more than to play spoiler in this bout.
In addition, he is enjoying a two fight win streak and wants to continue winning. A victory could help his career tremendously over a high ranked opponent.
Although Foot has had more fights and fought more rounds, it’s Davies Jr. that holds the edge in power, experience and quality of opponents.
There is no question Matchroom Sports is serious about putting on quality bouts, evidenced by this domestic level contest.
This fight is scheduled to take place at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on October 13.
