Gervonta “Tank” Davis claims he would stop unified junior welterweight champ Josh Taylor!

Well it looks like the king of social media beefs is at it again! Former WBA junior lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (22-0, 21KO) has now called out the much bigger and more accomplished unified junior welterweight champion, Josh “Tartan Tornado” Taylor (16-0, 12KO)!

Normally this would be a great thing for boxing! A former champion eying another champion who is in a division higher is always a great thing for the fans and for both fighter’s legacies.

However, if you understand the track record of Tank, then it is much easier to conclude that he is just blowing smoke. The former WBA champion has been in more social media beefs with recognizable names than he has actually got into the ring with!

From IBF junior lightweight champion Tevin Farmer, unified lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko, WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr, four division champ (and friend) Adrien Broner and even his promoter Floyd Mayweather to now Taylor?!

Yeah OK! Don’t hold your breath on this one boxing fans!

Davis had participated in a social media war with Farmer for nearly two years! The beef got so convoluted with “BS”, that fans started to lose interest in wanting to see the fight.

Before that there was Lomachenko. Davis was on social media calling the unified champ out and the two engaged in a brief keyboard dust-up. However, once the Lomachenko called his bluff…cyber-silence!

Furthermore, Mayweather would swoop in and mention on several occasions they are not interested in fighting Lomachenko since they are in no hurry to rush the career of the 24 year-old.

At one point, Mayweather did claim he was discussing the bout with Top Rank Chairman and Lomachneko’s promoter, Bob Arum. Although, that statement only came about after his infamous spat with the young fighter…you guessed it…over social media!

Since the two have made up, the future Hall of Fame inductee went back to claiming they are in no rush. It seemed the statement was only made to let Davis know who the boss was.

Nevertheless, he’s at it again and in this case, is really biting off more than he can chew.

Davis is expected to face aging former two-time featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa in December. In addition, has already made plans to take on former WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz thereafter.

At the end of the day, instead of calling respectable names out on social media, lets see Davis in the ring with some so we can actually put stock into him wanting to fight the best!

This social media bulls**t is getting annoying!
