Gervonta Davis claims he’ll breakdown Vasiliy Lomachenko within 10!

While boxing continues to scramble in bringing the sport back during the current COVID-19 pandemic, all the major entities have used various social media platforms to keep things interesting for the fans.

WBA President Gilberto Mendoza conducted a live interview with “regular” lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (23-0, 22ko).

He asked the 25-year-old southpaw from Baltimore about fighting the likes of WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15ko), Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (20-0, 17ko) and unified champion Vasiliy “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (14-1, 10ko).

Davis didn’t hesitate to reply and made it clear that they can all get that work!

“We can make it happen! It can be all of them to be honest not no specific fighter. It can be all of them! I’m willing to fight all of them. It’s just that time span it has to be the right time, right money wise and things like that but I’m all for it.”

CROSSING PATHS

Davis has been on the hit list for both Garcia and the WBC champion. Moreover, they have expressed wanting to fight the hard-hitting “regular” champion and they have traded some harsh verbal jabs over social media.

The Dream took to social media calling out the Baltimore champion prior to defeating former unified featherweight champion Yuriorkis “El Ciclon de Guantanamo” Gamboa (30-3, 18ko).

Garcia has also been wanting to get in the ring with Davis and hasn’t stopped pursuing the fight, demanding it on social media.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Ok, this is where things are about to get interesting.

Mendoza asked the one question that everyone undoubtedly turned up the volume to hear. It was pertaining to arguably top pound for pound/unified champion Lomachenko.

“You see yourself knocking out Lomachenko or going the distance.”

Davis again didn’t shy away and answered with confidence.

“I see myself breaking him down probably around the ninth or tenth round. I see myself breaking him down. It’s not too many people out there that can stand toe-to-toe with me especially at 130 or 135lbs.

“I don’t see nobody standing toe-to-toe with me.”

I know that some fans’ jaws are probably dropped in disbelieve and some are upset saying “He’s tripping.”

However, to be fair, that is exactly what a champion is supposed to say. Fans in the boxing community need to hear that. It energizes the sport, and hopefully once boxing resumes those are the fights we will get!
